Introduction to my ePortfolio:
My name is Peter Smith. I am a second year Msc Physiotherapy student at the University of Essex.
Welcome to my ePortfolio which contains the evidence I have gathered to meet the entry level graduate criteria of the CSP Framework Domains (1). The evidence found within the portfolio has been gathered over the course of my two-year MSc in the University of Essex and in nearby trusts.
The purpose of this profile of evidence is to demonstrate my Continuous Professional Development journey - in terms of my understanding of CPD and how my reliance on CPD has grown over the past 2 years. It will also demonstrate expectations on the direction of my CPD post graduating.
The domains set within the CSP framework are as follows - Political Awareness; Self-Awareness; Physiotherapy Practice Skills; Communicating; Helping Others Learn and Develop; Managing Self and Others; Promoting Teamwork and Integration; Putting the Person at the Centre of Practice; Respecting and Promoting Diversity; Ensuring Quality; Improving and Developing Services; Lifelong Learning; Practice Decision Making; Researching and Evaluating Practice and Using Evidence to Lead Practice.
For the purpose of clarity, a colour code system will be used to highlight differing domains, standards and principles of differing governing bodies/authorities. These are as follows
Pink – CSP framework (1)
Red -nhs value (2)
Green -HCPC standards for physiotherapy (3)
Yellow – CSP code of standards (4)
Underlined / bold - Evidence

CSP Framework
NHS Values
- working together for patients. Patients come first in everything we do
- respect and dignity. We value every person – whether patient, their families or carers, or staff – as an individual, respect their aspirations and commitments in life, and seek to understand their priorities, needs, abilities and limits
- commitment to quality of care. We earn the trust placed in us by insisting on quality and striving to get the basics of quality of care – safety, effectiveness and patient experience right every time
- compassion. We ensure that compassion is central to the care we provide and respond with humanity and kindness to each person’s pain, distress, anxiety or need
- improving lives. We strive to improve health and wellbeing and people’s experiences of the NHS
- everyone counts. We maximise our resources for the benefit of the whole community, and make sure nobody is excluded, discriminated against or left behind.
